Jackson and Addison share a room now. She’s still in a crib so we have a video monitor on her. Usually they go right down at bedtime but occasionally they stay up and chat for a while. Tonight was one of those nights. Brian and I turned on the monitor in our room on and watched and listened. This is what we heard . . .
Jackson was explaining to Addison that she “needs to be nice to Santa so he will bring her presents. If she cries or is a bad listener, Santa will bring her a rock instead.” She listened and repeated as usual. He also said if any big dinosaurs came in the room he would punch them in the eye. She said ok. After several minutes of rambling on, Jackson finally said “let’s go to bed Addison. Let’s go ni’ night.” We watched her lay down at his suggestion. The next exchange couldn’t have made me happier.
Jackson: I love you Addison
Addison: I love you brother
Jackson: You’re my best girl
Addison: You’re my best girl
Jackson: boy
Addison: sorry
Jackson: I’m a boy, Addison. Brothers are boys.
After a crazy weekend of Brian being on call (and super busy), going to church with the kids and having them push me to my limit that I walked out early (Jackson whining, complaining, Addison repeatedly pulling my skirt all the way up and snickering, holding a squirmy, teething baby who screamed every time I set her down and then she managed to turn on my iPod on my phone and blasted John Meyer in sacrament.) Hearing this loving conversation between my 4 & 2 year old somehow makes it all worth it.

Sister this is too funny. I wonder what Addison was snickering at when she lifted your skirt??? Loved the conversation with J & A too too precious. YOU ARE A GREAT MOM!!! Proof is in the video!!
If it makes you feel any better, I did NOT hear your phone going off. And I love those conversations as well.
Those are the times that sure help us mommy's keep trudging through the trenches!
They are so sweet-
