Last week I took Jackson out to the coast to walk one of the trails out there I have been meaning to check out. It was actually a much longer trail than I thought and with awesome views of the ocean. I let Jackson go at his pace and walk the ENTIRE time! I thought for sure he would want a lift on the way back, but he was so distracted by all the fun sticks and rocks that he never asked to be picked up. I was so proud of him and loved being able to "hike" with him next to me like a real hiking partner. We walked for an hour and a half before heading home for lunch and a nap.
This picture cracks me up - it's so posed. Such a big boy leading the way. Jackson doesn't like to look up when I'm taking a picture, so I have to ask him things like, "Where's mommy's nose?" or "Where's the airplane?" It's effective in getting him to look up, but he's usually pointing as well. What do ya do? This might look like he is super close to falling off a cliff, but I totally had it under control. And there you go. Have you booked your flight to come visit us yet? . . .
