Last week sometime we headed out to Horsfall Beach just to see a different view of the ocean, but we only stayed about 20 minutes because it was so windy! It was a nice day everywhere else, but as soon as we walked over the hill to the beach the wind hit us like a ton of bricks.
It was really beautiful because of the huge waves and high tide, but we had to leave for warmer weather after just a short visit.
Jackson does not seem to be affected by weather yet; he was very upset that we left but quickly cheered up when we arrived at a warm park near by. It was so warm in fact, that we had to strip all our winter layers off and apply sunscreen! This coastal weather is quite funny to me; cold and windy in one place then hot and sunny a mile inland.
These two really don't take bad pictures together.
Draggin Nana down the hill. - no wind here by the way.
After playing at the park we went for a short walk to the bay just to check it out. I tried to be crafty and use the timer on my camera so I could actually document that I do spend time with my mom. Well, my camera is a big Cannon EOS, so balancing it on rocks and logs then running into the shot did not always prove to be easy. Here is what we got from my attempts.
Originally I was going to sit near my mom, but I placed the camera so far away that I had to run to make it in the shot before the timer went off, but during my sprint Jackson took off running, so I had to stop short, pick him up then turn and smile immediately. Phew! I still made it in the pic.
Totally falling off the log in the pic below!
Mom suggested that maybe I don't sit - much better idea.
One of only two pictures my mom took her whole trip! Not bad.

On our walk Jackson would NOT hold my hand even for a second! I just wanted one cute 'mom & son shot walking into the sunset'. Nope, not a chance.
