Saturday = Sandcastles, Seashells, Surf & Sleigh rides

No work for Brian meant play time for all of us. We started out by heading to the beach to soak up our new found sunshine then a yummy lunch and a beautiful hike to work it off - well, kind of. Trying to convince Jackson to keep his hat on was a fun game we played all day. We put it on & he takes it off, we put it on, he pulls it off, we put it on and distract him and wah-la it stays on for another 15 minutes.
Salty seashells! Can I get a "Whoo-hoo" for the all time favorite sleigh ride in the sand?
Look at that strapping young man running towards me on the beach. What a treat!
It's always fun to practice his dog impersonation with the animal himself. He never misses an opportunity whether it be on a walk, in the grocery store parking lot or the beach. Maybe it's not an impersonation . . . maybe Jackson can speak to animals like I can. Hhmm.
OUR HIKE ALONG THE COAST
We don't really know the best hiking spots yet, we still have a lot of exploring to do. I was hoping for a little more work-out than we got today. There were not too many hills, but a great view the whole time and Jackson seemed to enjoy his vantage point. We always say pictures don't do it justice.
The water was SO clear and calm today. Even from where we stood we could see the bottom of the shallow sea floor. If only I could have a scratch-n-sniff post where you could smell what we smelled on this hike. It was so fresh with all the new foliage growing in that the air was actually sweet; just like heaven. Brian probably took half a dozen pictures of us trying to get Jackson to look up with the sun in his face. Alas he did and look how cute he is with that big 'ol squinty grin? Well worth the trouble I'd say!
