We headed to the beach on Saturday. but as it often does in the summer, a heavy fog loomed over the coast line making it very cold and dark. Instead of bundling up at the cold beach all day, we turned around and headed back to town where the temperature rose about 10 degrees. (Oregon coast weather is crazy.) Empire Lakes was warm and vacant, so we broke out the canoes & rafts and had a BLAST at the lake down the street from my house. Yes, Coos Bay is that cool of a place to live! You should come visit some time.
